Associate’s Degree in Multidisciplinary Studies (Grantham University)
The Associate of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies Program is offered by Grantham University in the online format. The program provides students with a core of general education studies plus an array of structured liberal arts or sciences curriculum. Graduates are expected to acquire skills and knowledge that will allow them to effectively communicate, analyze and synthesize knowledge from at least two (2) disciplines; present ideas across different contexts whether in written or visual form; use electronic, print and/or media information sources, and employ critical thinking skills to enable solution of problems.
Required courses include Introduction to Business, Introduction to Public Administration, Computer Concepts and Office Applications, English Composition, Strategies for Decision Making, and Philosophy of Science and Technology. Courses are derived from two or more distinct programs that provide a cross-cutting focus on a subject concentration that is neither subsumed under one occupational field nor discipline. The university is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). Program length is sixty-three (63) credit hours.
Prospective students are required to submit their official high school transcripts, diploma or equivalency certificates. Students from non-English-speaking countries are likewise required to submit a minimum TOEFL score of two hundred thirteen (213) for computer-based tests, sixty-one (61) for Internet-based tests or five hundred (500) for paper-based tests.
