Associate’s Degree in Business Administration (Grantham University)

Students are provided the basic knowledge of science, technology and market commercialization through the Associate of Science in Business Administration Program. It is offered by Grantham University in the online format as accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). The program is provided through the university’s College of Arts and Sciences. The successful completion of the program should equip graduates with the ability to evaluate theories and actions that facilitate business/organization growth; evaluate the role of science, technology, and market commercialization in the process of creating viable products and services; and demonstrate skills in critical thinking and communication skills.

This sixty-three (63) credit hour program requires completion of Program Core Courses, General Education Courses, and General Education Electives. Program Core Courses include Principles of Business Management, Foundations of Marketing, Personal Finance, Programming Essentials, Advance Microcomputer Applications, E-Commerce, and Student Success. General Education Courses include Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Computer Concepts and Office Applications, English Composition I and II, American Government I, College Algebra, and Finite Mathematics. General Education Electives are provided in Behavioral and Social Studies, Communication, Humanities and Fine Arts, and Natural Sciences.

Graduates can expect to find career opportunities in private or government organizations whether as employees, supervisors or middle and low-level managers. Tasks would entail the use of quantitative and qualitative skills, strategies, and scientific decision-making. Generally, people who make decisions related to the administration of businesses are referred to as business administrators. This program opens entry-level employment opportunities to graduates. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
