Students seeing to work in ministry while being trained in the skills of communication, leadership and organization will find the Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies-Christian Leadership relevant to their educational and career goals. The program allows for the mentoring of Christian leaders while addressing Biblical foundations, human behavior and the application of business acumen to church setting. It is offered by Grand Canyon University in the online format.

Required courses for Christian Studies include Ethical Thinking in the Liberal Arts, Old Testament Historical Perspectives, New Testament Historical Perspectives, World Religions, Spiritual Formation for Christian Leaders, Moses and the Prophets, Jesus and his Interpreters, Biblical Interpretation and Application, Systematic Theology, History of Christianity, Contemporary Theology, and Christian Leadership in the 21st Century. Students are required to take General Education courses including four (4) credits of University Foundations, 9-12 credits of Effective Communication, four (4) credits of Christian Worldview, 11-12 credits of Critical Thinking, and 6-8 credits of General Awareness, Perspectives and Ethics.

Graduates of this program have the option to pursue a master’s degree specifically in the religion field of study. Some of the available options include the Master of Arts in Christian Studies, Master of Arts in Religion, Master of Religious Education, and Master of Theology, among others. Employment within a ministry is something which a graduate can look forward to after program completion. They may consider careers as clergy member, church administrator, missionary, and other work related to spiritual formation. The program adopts a servant leadership perspective which can be applied to the issues related to the needs of leaders in the 21st century. Christian ideals are intended to be applied to the workplace as well as the global marketplace while facilitating enhancement of leadership capabilities in any setting. The foundation of the program curriculum is biblical studies. Applicants should be at least twenty-one (21) years old and have some college credits.
