Grand Canyon University (GCU) offers the Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies as a sound foundation for people intending to attend graduate school or seminary for the purpose of becoming church pastors or lay leaders in local churches. Backed by the university’s accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission, this online program serves its relevance and importance by providing college-level introduction to the Bible as well as basic Christian doctrines and theology and an overview of other world religions. The program is offered in a cohort-based model where students get to advance through the course together. Aside from the progressive development of knowledge and skills, program participants are able to focus on one (1) course at a time.
Online degree programs of GCU may take 1.5 to 2 years to complete. More transfer credits accepted enable students to finish earlier than usual. Students are expected to complete six (6) credit hours per semester. Classes usually have less than twenty (20) students. GCU requires a minimum of thirty (30) credits to be completed with the university to be considered graduates of the institution.
