The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Career Focus Area in Retail Management prepares students for managing positions in retail establishments. Although some entry-level positions in the retail industry field do not require a bachelor’s degree, such a degree makes a difference when career advancement is sought and desired. Education and work experience are the success elements of most retail management professionals.

A total of one hundred eighty (180) credit hours must be completed by students to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Required Concentration Courses include Principles of Retailing, Interpersonal Communications, Building Customer Sales and Loyalty, Small Business Management, and Customer Service. Required Core Courses include 100/200 Level Communication Course, 100/200 Level Mathematics Course, 200 Level Communication Course, 300/400 Level Arts and Humanities Course, 300/400 Level Physical Science Course, and 300/400 Level Social Science Course and Open Electives. Required Major Courses include Academic Strategies for the Business Professional or Pathways to Academic Success, Accounting for Non-Accounting Majors or Accounting I, Macroeconomics or Microeconomics or Global Business, Business Math, Introduction to Management , Human Resource Management or Small Business Management, Finance, Marketing, Managerial Accounting for Business Professionals, Organizational Behavior, Ethics and Legal Environment or Business Law, Marketing Research or Marketing Management or 300/400 Level Marketing Elective, Business Process Management or Operations Management, Managerial Economics or Corporate Finance, Management Policy and Strategy, and Management Capstone Experience or Bachelor’s Capstone in Management.
