If you pursue the Online Work and Communities concentration offered in Walden University’s Bachelor of Science degree in Communication, you will tap into the cutting-edge virtual technologies that define today’s global workplace.
Walden’s unique curriculum will help you strengthen your communication skills and effectiveness with key courses: Interpersonal Communication, Professional Writing for Successful Communication, Principles of Public Relations, Communicating Through Media and Technology, Communication and Thought, and Intercultural Communication.
The Online Work and Communities concentration offers advanced courses including Computer-Mediated Communications, Computer-Supported Collaborative Work, and Web 2.0 Systems and Applications. You will explore online communications and the virtual world of work while developing strategies to surmount the challenges of geography.
The concentration will also challenge you to choose suitable communication tools and approaches, and your capstone course will provide an opportunity to showcase your knowledge and skills by applying them to a practical problem. Throughout the program, you will develop an interactive portfolio of your work including press releases, marketing pieces, and organizational communications.
The program requires 181 total credit hours for graduation, with most classes earning 5 credit hours. Tuition ranges from $255 down to $100 per credit hour depending on the curriculum component.
