Online Accelerated BS in Health Science to Master of Public Health (Kaplan University)
The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Health Science to Master of Public Health Program as offered by Kaplan University is especially designed to meet the educational needs of individuals seeking leadership and managerial positions in the public health industry. These would include career opportunities in governmental, non-profit, and private organizations. Accreditation is provided by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
The Accelerated Option allows students to earn a bachelor’s degree in Health Science and a Master’s Degree in Public Health for a much shorter time and lower cost that it would take to complete these two programs separately. The program is suitable for high-potential undergraduate students who are up to the task of completing dual degrees. Prospective students include associate and bachelor degree holders in another field.
Students will be required to take five (5) Core Courses in the Master’s in Public Health Program while working for a bachelor’s degree. The shortened version of the master’s degree will only be made available to students who successfully complete the five (5) courses with a minimum course grade. Access to the accelerated option is subject to eligibility requirements. The program seeks to provide students with the required skills to work in a broad public health field.
Graduates of the program can pursue career positions as healthcare administrator, health educator, medical assistant, personal trainer, or clinical research coordinator. The master’s degree program focuses on critical health topics including public health policy and management, healthcare administration, behavioral sciences, epidemiology as well as the research methods in public health. Further studies can be obtained by pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Health Science, or Healthcare Administration.
