Online Advanced Start BS in International and Comparative Criminal Justice (Kaplan University)
Kaplan University offers the Advanced Start Bachelor of Science in International and Comparative Criminal Justice Program to individuals interested in building a foundational understanding of the global approaches taken in analyzing the theories of crime, jurisprudence, legal systems, courts, juvenile justice, and substantive offenses across cultures. Students will learn how to collect and report procedures and investigations pertaining to international and comparative criminal justice. The program curriculum also allows for the development of communication skills, critical thinking skills, and technical competencies required to advance in job positions in the field.
Major Courses include Eight Skills of the Effective Criminal Justice Student, Introduction to the Criminal Justice System, Criminology I, Foundations of International and Comparative Criminal Justice, Introduction to International Policing, Criminal Investigation, Peacekeeping Operations, Investigating Terrorism, Crisis Management in Terrorist Attacks and Disasters, Comparative Criminal Justice System, Organized Crime, Global Culture and Criminal Justice, Trends in International Policing, Current Gender Issues in International Criminal Justice, Role of Criminal Justice in Peacekeeping Operations, and the Bachelor’s Capstone for International and Comparative Criminal Justice. Total program length for the regular bachelor’s degree is one hundred eighty (180) credits. Students will only be required to complete a minimum of ninety (90) credits for the Advanced Start Option as they are allowed to transfer as much as ninety (90) credits from previous learning.
Prospective students include associate or bachelor degree holders from another field. Tuition cost is $ 425.00 per credit for an approximate total program cost of $ 38,250.00. Qualified students can avail of federal aid, scholarships or tuition discounts. The university is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
