Associate or bachelor degree holders can take advantage of Kaplan University’s Advanced Start Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with an Emphasis on Project Management to start or advance in careers in Project Development in an IT setting. They can finish the program within twenty-four (24) months since they are allowed to transfer credits from previous learning as assessed and approved by the University Administrators. Kaplan University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Required Courses for the Advanced Start Option include Project Management Body of Knowledge, Project Portfolio Management and the Project Management Office, Project Management Certification Preparation, and Construction Project Management. Total program length is ninety (90) credit hours as compared to a regular bachelor’s degree which has a length of one hundred eighty (180) credit hours. Applicants for the regular bachelor’s program should at least have a high school diploma or an equivalent GED. Tuition cost for the Advanced Start Option is $ 425.00 per credit hour and $ 371 per credit hour for the regular bachelor’s degree.

Under the regular bachelor’ degree, Project Management is one of the Focus Areas offered under the Applied Technology Track. Project Management Emphasis Area Required Courses include Project Management I, Project Management II, Business Process Management, and Outcomes Assessment and Quality Management. Students are required to also complete Core Courses and Major Courses. Graduates can choose to pursue further studies through a Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or Project Management. Possible career positions include Web Project Manager, Network Administrator or IT Project Manager. Project Management is essentially concerned with the achievement of project goals and objectives given the natural constraints of a project.
