Students and professionals who know where they are going career-wise realize the importance of getting the right education with the least inconvenience possible that will still allow them to work while studying. The Online Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Public Health to Master of Public Health Program offered by Kaplan University targets associate or bachelor degree holders from other fields who desire to pursue career advancement or career shift opportunities. Accreditation is provided by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

The program seeks to prepare participants to occupy leadership and managerial positions in governmental, private, or non-profit organizations in the public health industry. Students are trained to develop professional, ethical, and administrative skills that will facilitate effective application of public health principles to health education and communication programs. The Master’s Degree Program in Public Health offers three (3) specializations namely Epidemiology, Health Education, and Public Health Program Development. This will allow students to gain expertise in a particular field of study.

Not all students can be accepted for the Accelerated Program. Students must be willing and able to simultaneously work for a bachelor’s and master’s degree program. They will be required to take five (5) Core Courses from the master’s degree program while completing the bachelor’s degree. A minimum course grade is required for these five (5) courses to enable students to successfully qualify for the Accelerated Option or the shortened version of the master’s degree program. Students must apply and be accepted into the Master’s of Public Health Program.

The primary advantage of this program is the shorter completion time required to obtain a bachelor and master’s degree. This does not only save time but also money because of the lesser credit hours that have to be taken.
