Grand Canyon University offers the Bachelor of Science in Public Safety Administration as an online undergraduate degree program intended to develop professional skills and knowledge in the field of public safety. It provides both theoretical and applied approaches to students’ education while remaining relevant to the study of homeland security and protection industry. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Program length is one hundred twenty (120) credits inclusive of thirty-nine (39) General Education credits, thirty-six (36) Public Safety Administration Major credits and forty-five (45) Elective credits. Public Safety Administration Major Courses include Managerial Communications, Research Methodology, Human Resource Management, Political and Legal Systems, Ethics in Public Safety, Leadership in Public Safety, Public Safety and the Community, Organization Development and Change, Project Management, Strategic Planning, and the Public Safety Capstone. Students are also required to take six (6) credits in a Christian perspective.

Graduates of the program are given career opportunities to become paralegals, security personnel, police officers, prison guards or emergency technicians. Experience and further study prepares participants for higher lead administrative positions. These positions require a high level of understanding both in interpersonal skills and organizational dynamics. Applicants must be US citizens, at least twenty-one (21) years old and have some college credits. Ideal candidates for admission are public safety professionals having an Associate degree.
