About the Degree
Upper Iowa University offers an online Bachelor’s (BS) Degree in Accounting. The degree will prepare you to work right away for an accounting firm or a business that needs a skilled accountant.
The university offers different classes to help you get certified as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor).
The accounting classes will help you understand accounting theory and how to apply it in finance, tax, and non-profit businesses. Also, you will learn auditing skills.
Here are some of the classes in the program: Financial Accounting, Auditing, and Federal Taxation. Also, you will be required to finish a Senior Project.
If you want to become a CPA, you must finish 150 hours of relevant courses. We recommend taking graduate classes in accounting or a related field. These classes will allow you to sit for the CPA exam.
You will need a variety of general business skills to succeed as an accountant. Upper Iowa will teach you those skills with their business classes including economics, management, business law, marketing, and statistics.
There is no requirement to be on campus during the degree program. You will have access to the course anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
You can enroll anytime. To qualify for enrollment, you need to have a high school diploma or the equivalent. If you wish to transfer credits, you must have a 2.0 GPA or better.
