About the Degree
Looking for an accounting degree that can help you progress towards a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license? Walden’s B.S. degree in Accounting includes important content for students who wish to become CPAs. With advanced classes in topics such as auditing, financial accounting, management accounting, and taxation, you can meet many of the requirements needed to sit for the CPA exam.
Walden’s accounting program is designed with the national standards set by the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) in mind.
As a student, you will gain a holistic understanding of accounting’s role in the larger business environment. You will learn both theory and practical application to prepare you for the workplace.
A capstone project at the end of program will further expand your knowledge and skills. In the project, you will evaluate a case study based on real life situations. You will apply what you have learned by recommending changes and improvements to solve the case study problems.
To qualify for admission, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 24 years old.
