The Environmental Sustainability Certificate Program – Business Track is offered by Kaplan University through Kaplan Continuing Education (KCE) in the online format. The Business Track provides the basic foundation in environmental sustainability in relation to an organizational development. Other offered tracks include the Project Management Track, the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Track, and the Combined Project Management/ Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Track. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Required Business Track Courses include The Business of Sustainability, Environmental Laws and Regulations, and Working for Environmental Sustainability. The program length is six (6) to nine (9) months. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Environment sustainability professionals must know current and future environmental laws and regulations, manage projects for minimizing environmental impact and reducing waste, and implement appropriate projects. They can influence environmental actions of organizations based on what is deemed suitable for a particular sustainability issue.
