Online Environmental Sustainability Certificate – Lean Six Sigma/Project Management Track (Kaplan University)
Kaplan University offers the Environmental Sustainability Certificate – Combined Lean Six Sigma/ Project Management Track in the online format through Kaplan Continuing Education (KCE) programs. The program combines environmentalism and profitable business management strategies to enable students to obtain problem-solving and critical thinking skills to find solutions to various issues requiring a deeper understanding of environmental sustainability. Individuals who hold certificates to programs such as this, enhance their career prospects by demonstrating concern for the future of the world.
Students will have the opportunity to learn about current and future environmental laws and regulations, emerging trends in environmental sustainability, environmental actions of private and public organizations, and projects aimed at minimizing environmental impact and reducing waste. They will also have the chance to implement select projects in the course of the program. Program length is from six (6) to nine (9) months.
Career opportunities awaiting graduates include positions as environmental specialist, environmental technician, environmental engineering research manager, or environmental consultant, among others. The program is able to provide a strong foundation on the area of environmental sustainability as applied in business, project management, and Lean Six Sigma. Applicants must possess an associate’s degree plus a basic knowledge of statistics. The Combined Lean Six Sigma/ Project Management Track requires completion of courses in The Business of Sustainability, Environmental Laws and Regulations, Working for Environmental Sustainability, Fundamentals of Project Management, Advanced Project Management, Introduction to Lean Six Sigma, and Environmental Breakthroughs Advanced Lean Six Sigma. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
