Online Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship for New Ventures (Kaplan University)
The Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship for New Ventures Program is offered by Kaplan University through Kaplan Continuing Education (KCE) in cooperation with Kauffman FastTrac®. Kauffman provides learning curricula to aspiring and established entrepreneurs to obtain the tools, resources and network required for starting or expanding successful businesses. The university is fully recognized and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
Participants of the program are given the opportunity to examine the process of creating successful businesses as well as obtain learning in key business areas including making feasibility studies, developing financial and operational plans, and creating business plans. By completing a minimum of four (4) quarter credit hours, participants are awarded their certificates.
Required courses include Foundations of Entrepreneurship – FastTrac® New Venture™ and the FastTrac® New Venture™ Lab. Credits earned from this program can be applied to a related degree program in the university.
Prospective students include individuals in the early stages of starting a business. The program curriculum includes key areas of study as provided in course topics such as exploring entrepreneurship; analyzing internal and external environment for proposed business ventures or services, defending business plans, planning products or services; and assessing new business or venture environment in the macro and micro aspects.
Most successful entrepreneurs are characterized by strong communication skills, sound judgment, and flexible expectations. Students of this program are expected to acquire these skills and knowledge so as to successfully perform as entrepreneurs. Graduates can opt to pursue further studies through a master’s degree program.
