EdS Degree in Curriculum and Instruction (Capella University)

Capella University is offering an online Education Specialist program that focuses on Curriculum and Instruction. This program is intended for educators and administrators who have already completed their master’s degrees and yet still want to gain additional knowledge and expertise in the field in order to increase their career options. Due to its mostly online format allows learners to schedule their coursework and study periods around existing professional and personal commitments.

Designed around national teaching and licensure standards, Capella’s online EdS – Curriculum and Instruction program focuses on the development of demonstrable research-based knowledge, skills and practical experience needed to create and implement instructional initiatives to increase student achievement. It is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and equivalent coursework in the EdS program may count toward a Capella PhD degree. Note, however, that this course was not designed to satisfy licensure requirements for P-12 public school teachers or administrators.

Tuition usually does not include the cost of books and other incidental expenses that may arise during the duration of the program. Tuition may also change without prior notice. To help ease the cost of education, financial aid options in the form of loans, grants and scholarships are in place and are readily available to eligible students.
