The Master of Arts in Christian Studies with an Emphasis in Christian Leadership is an advanced degree program offered by Grand Canyon University Online to prepare leaders in biblical and theological knowledge in the present setting. The development of character and integrity in relation to all life aspects is integrated into the program.
The preparation of Christian leaders in whatever area of influence is of specific concern in this master’s program, whether personal, professional, religious or secular. The Christian Leadership emphasis allows students to better understand their respective leadership style as well as that of others. In as much as the Christian Ministry faces particular challenges, graduates of this program are expected to attain the knowledge and skills to properly address these challenges.
Required courses for the program include Old Testament Foundations, New Testament Foundations, Systematic Theology I and II, Spiritual Formation and Mentoring, Christian Worldview and Contextualization, and Biblical Hermeneutics. Christian Leadership specific courses include Theories of Leadership, and Leading Through Crisis/Conflict and Change. Each of these courses is equivalent to four (4) credits for a total program length of thirty-six (36) credits.
Career opportunities presented to graduates of this program include positions in churches, religious schools/colleges and universities, religious institutions, and abroad. They may choose to be private school teachers, college or university instructors, clergy members, church administrators, and religious program director. Programs are only available to US residents.
