Online MEd in Curriculum and Instruction – ESOL (Concordia University – Portland)
Concordia University is offering an online Master of Education and Curriculum and Instruction (MECI) degree program that is ideal for individuals who want to develop effective instructional strategies that promote learning for students who do not have English as their native language. The degree program, MECI with specialization in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is designed to capitalize on the uniqueness of individual learners and the program’s course work focuses not just on teaching, but also on creating vibrant learning communities.

To complete Concordia University’s online MECI with English to Speakers of Other Languages degree, candidates must successfully complete and pass five of the program’s core courses, and meet the requirements of the following foundational courses: Strategies and Materials for Teaching English Learners (EDCI 538), Linguistics (EDCI 539), Language and Culture in the Classroom (EDCI 540), Language Acquisition (EDCI 541), Assessing English Learners (EDCI 543), and a 5-week long CAPSTONE Action Research course (EDGR 698).
