Online MS in Accounting (Kaplan University)
Kaplan University offers the Master of Science in Accounting to individuals interested in pursuing mid to senior level positions in the field of accounting. The program curriculum covers critical areas of study including generation and analysis of accounting data; creation of quality improvement processes, compliance strategies, and reimbursement procedures; conducting research; risk management and legal issues; and familiarization with over all department management. Graduates are eligible to sit for Professional Certification Examination such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Examinations.
The program has a length of fifty-two (52) credits. Required Core Courses include Financial Accounting and Reporting, Regulation, Advanced Auditing, Ethical Issues in Business and Accounting, Advanced Managerial/Cost Accounting, Corporate Tax Decisions and Strategies, Business Communications, and Economics for Global Decision Makers. Students are also required to complete eight (8) credits of Accounting Electives and twelve (12) credits of Specialization Courses. Offered Areas of Specialization include Audit, Finance, Government, and Tax.
