Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction (Capella University)

The rapidly increasing field of P-12 education has spawned a need for professionals who are able to properly monitor and, if necessary, improve student achievement. Capella University has developed an online Master of Science (MS) in Curriculum and Instruction degree program that specializes in just that.

Capella University’s online MS – Curriculum and Instruction degree program focuses on applying current theory, research and technology to the design of curriculum and instructional models. Learners will learn how to use assessment, classroom management and other techniques to further strengthen instruction and reduce, if not eliminate, achievement gaps. While completing the program, learners are given the opportunity to build their professional portfolios in order to document and demonstrate their competencies and capabilities to potential employees. Although the program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), it is not designed to satisfy the licensure requirements for P-12 public school teachers or administrators. Graduates of Capella’s online MS – Curriculum and Instruction should be able to improve classroom instruction or pursue leadership positions in institutions that design curricula within P-12 school districts.

The tuition fee per credit does not usually include the cost of books and other incidental expenses, and this may also change without prior notice. Financial aid in the form of grants, loans and scholarships are in place and are readily available to eligible students.
