The full program consists of 48 quarter credits worth of academic coursework and the curriculum covers a wide range of topics that include the biological, epidemiological, psychological and social changes that are caused by aging. Other topics that are covered by the course are: attitudes towards aging, both cultural and social; care and services that promote productive aging, multi-generational relationships; and the impact of an aging demographic on public policy.

Those who successfully complete Capella’s online MS Gerontology program can progress their careers in the fields of management, education, research in non-profit organizations, public agencies, or health care facilities that are actively involved with an aging population.

Tuition does not include incidental costs such as library fees, books and laboratory fees. Financial aid options in the form of grants, loans and scholarships are, however, readily available to eligible students.
