Capella University is offering an online Master of Science (MS) degree program that specializes in the field of Health Information Management. This program has been designed to meet the increasing demand for qualified IT professionals in various health care settings. Capella’s MS Health Information Management program offers comprehensive health-care focused course work involving information systems, databases, system security, data analysis, decision support and strategic management. Furthermore, the program’s curriculum, which is patterned after that of the American Health Information management Association (AHIMA) includes overviews of important IT and business topics. Capella’s online MS in Health Information Management is earned once 48 quarter credits worth of academic courses have been completed. These 48 quarter credits are broken down in to Core Courses, Specialization Courses and a Capstone Course which is taken on the learner’s last quarter of the program. Tuition does not include the cost of books and other incidental expenses such as lab and library fees.
