Kaplan University offers the Master of Science in Information Technology with an Emphasis in Business Intelligence to individuals interested in careers that focus on technology’s business side as well as knowledge acquisition and representation models, algorithms, study analysis and development of decision support systems, data mining concepts, and applications. The basic Information Technology program is specifically designed to provide a solid foundation in integrated design and technology. The study will cover data analysis for solving complex problems; project management skills employment; and information systems theory, principles and practices.

The Business Intelligence Specialized Track requires the completion of fifty-six (56) credit hours. Core Courses include Critical Concepts and Competencies for the IT Professional, System Analysis and Design, Information Systems Project Management, Database Management Systems, Computer Networks, Management of Information Security, Legal and Ethical Issues in IT, and Applied IT Master Project. Business Intelligence Specialization Courses consist of Decision Support Systems, Knowledge-Based Management Systems, and Data Warehousing and Data Mining.

Students will also get to develop their skills in critical thinking, communication, and technology. They are also expected to learn how to apply technologies that are appropriate for conducting analysis and design in business information systems while gaining the capability to assess business intelligence implication on the ethical, legal, and social aspects. The program is offered in the online format.

Prospective students must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.5.
