Capella University is offering an online Master of Science (MS) degree program specializing in Mental Health Counseling. This program, which is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), has a rigorous curriculum that includes online coursework, residencies and field experiences. Capella’s online MS Mental Health Counseling program was designed to prepare individuals for a satisfying career in mental health counseling as well as for state licensure eligibility.
The full online MS Mental Health Counseling program is composed of 92 quarter credits of coursework, and these are earned by completing the required number of Core Courses, Specialization Courses, Clinical Experience, a 100-hour practicum, and a 600-hour internship. The coursework will revolve around exploring the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to properly assess and treat mental and emotional disorders, as well as promote mental health. This program is chosen by those who want to pursue mental health counselor positions in private or public-funded practice settings.
Tuition, which may change without prior notice, does not include the cost of books and other incidental expenses such as laboratory and library fees.
