Online MS in Nursing – Nurse Administrator (Kaplan University)

The Master of Science in Nursing Program as offered by Kaplan University provides the opportunity to earn the required credentials for registered nurses to pursue management-level and advanced practice positions. It is offered in the Nurse Administrator Specialization for individuals interested in pursuing administrative, managerial, and leadership roles in hospitals, long-term care facilities, or community centers. The program places special emphasis on the principles of personnel management, budgeting, policy development and implementation, and the use of information technology in the performance of advanced nursing roles.

Students have to complete sixty-three (63) credit hours consisting of Core Courses and Specialization Courses. Graduates may be eligible to take the Nurse Executive or Nurse Executive-Advanced Certification Exams as provided by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with an upper-division major in nursing from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university.

The university is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Graduates can pursue a doctorate degree for more advanced technical skills and knowledge. Possible job positions include nurse manager, nursing director, or unit manager.
