Drexel University offers the Master of Science in Professional Studies through its Goodwin College School of Technology and Professional Studies. It is one of the options offered within the university’s Multidisciplinary and Emerging Programs Division. It has been specifically developed to address the educational needs of individuals and practitioners seeking career advancement through highly developed and marketable skills.

Comprising the program are 18-credit core courses, 18-credit concentration courses, 3-credit elective courses and 6-credit Capstone Project, totaling forty-five (45) credits. Core courses include Communication for Professionals, Ethics for Professionals, Research Methods and Statistics, Computing for Professionals, Program Evaluation and Introduction to Projects Management. Elective courses include Public Management in Crisis, Emergency Incident Risk Management, Policy Analysis, and Communicating in Virtual Teams.

The concentrations offered for the MS in Professional Studies are the Creativity Studies Concentration, E-Learning Leadership Concentration, Homeland Security Management Concentration and the soon to be available Educational Policy Concentration. The program is offered completely online and is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The Capstone Project is an applied project for the chosen concentration which is a way for students to demonstrate their achievements while enabling self-assessment.

Admissions criteria include a completed application form, bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, official transcripts from all universities and colleges attended including post-secondary educational institutions and trade schools, two (2) letters of recommendation, personal essay of 500 to 750 words explaining the applicant’s interest in the program and a resume. Tuition rate is $960.00 per credit.
