MS in Project Management (Drexel University)
Drexel University offers its Master of Science in Project Management through its Goodwin College School of Technology and Professional Studies. The program has been specifically designed for professionals in mid-career level desiring to develop strong project management capabilities which can be applied in various fields. Degree requirements can be completed in two (2) years.
The program fully supports the completion of the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional Certification. It goes further by providing skills needed in managing projects, programs and portfolios in the highly competitive production environment. The skills are not limited for application to single projects, whether in business, communication and leadership aspects. The achievement of a set of business goals is made possible by teaching students in the coordination of integrated projects.
Essentially combining the study of project management with general business management and leadership coursework, the program is comprised of forty-five (45) credits. The curriculum consists of core courses equivalent to twenty-seven (27) credits, electives equivalent to fifteen (15) credits and a Capstone Project equivalent to three (3) credits. Competency in project management can be applied in many fields such as engineering, IT/Software development, financial services and media arts, among many. Core courses include Introduction to Project Management, Project Planning and Scheduling, Project Quality Management, Project Estimation and Cost Management, Project Risk Assessment and Management, E-Tools for Project Management, Managing Multiple Projects, International Project Management, and Project Management Leadership.
Admissions requirements include completed application form, bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, GPA of 3.0 or higher, official transcripts, two (2) letters of recommendation, personal essay and resume. Tuition rate is $960.00 per credit.
