Eastern Kentucky University has an online Master of Science degree program for active fire, safety and emergency services professionals that focuses on the field of ergonomics. The online Master of Science in Safety, Security and Emergency Management (SSEM) with Ergonomics concentration focuses on the role human engineering and ergonomics play in every day life. Through this program, students learn to design safer and more efficient tools and work processes that would keep workers safe from harm, and increase productivity as well.
Through the study of Ergonomics, students learn how important it is to create safer and more comfortable work environments both in the public and private sector. The course work included in this online program looks at how work environment can be improved using occupational safety, developing policy, analyzing risk factors and bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications to ensure worker safety in a healthy work place.
In order to earn EKU’s online Master of Science in SSEM with concentration in Ergonomics, students must complete six Safety, Security and Emergency Management Core Courses as well as a prescribed number of General Electives in Emergency Management and Ergonomics.
