Master’s Degree (MS) in Software Engineering – Computer Science Track (Drexel University)

The Master of Science in Software Engineering – Computer Science Track is an online graduate degree program offered by Drexel University. Students having specific interest in various application domains will be given a multidisciplinary curriculum that addresses the different aspects of software engineering. Study is not only limited to the technical aspects but also encompasses managerial and behavioral aspects.

Organized in 10-week quarters, the program is convenient to take since a year’s academic work is broken down into shorter modules lasting ten (10) weeks each. This arrangement ensures that students remain focused and on-track. Classes are handled by experienced faculty who are also successful professionals in the field of software engineering.

Prospective students interested in the Computer Science Track are required to take six (6) core courses and all Computer Science Tracks Required Courses plus two (2) graduate courses as electives, totaling fifteen (15) courses. Core courses include Computer Networks, Software Design, Dependable Software Systems, Requirements Engineering and Management, Information Technology Integration, and Software Project Management. Computer Science Tracks Required Courses consists of Computer Science Foundations, Programming Tools and Environments, Data Structures and Algorithms I and II, Theory of Computation, Programming Languages, and Developing User Interfaces. For Electives, students have the choice of taking any two (2) Computer Science or INFO Online Graduate Courses.

Admissions criteria include a 4-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited US institution or international equivalent, minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for undergraduate and graduate work, complete applications, official transcripts, two (2) letters of recommendation, resume, and a 500-word essay. Minimum TOEFL Score of 600 for international students is required. Tuition rate is $ 960.00 per credit.
