Online PhD in Management – Organizational Development Change (Colorado Technical University)
Colorado Technical University (CTU) has developed a Doctor of Management degree program with a concentration in Organizational Development and Change. The program’s course content focuses on teaching students how to evaluate organizational design. It also challenges students to design a large systems intervention strategy and analyze an complete cycle in action research within an organization.
In the first year of the program, students are taught classic and current management literature. In their second year on the program, the focus shifts and courses revolve on understanding management research and methods used in Organizational Development and Change. The final year of the program concentrates on the development of leadership skills and the ability to manage change. Students will need to produce four publishable papers or a dissertation that must be approved by a committee, before they can earn their Doctor of Management degree.
The courses of CTU’s Doctor of Management in Organizational Development and Change include twelve 5-credit classes and another twelve 3-credit research and writing courses. Some of the program’s required courses include Fundamentals of Management, Research Methods and Design, Qualitative and Ethnographic Methods, Strategic Organization Design, Large Scale Transformational Change, and Philosophy of Science, Values and Ethics. These courses are taught using CTU’s Professional Learning Model™ wherein each course combines an online component with an intensive residential session that usually lasts four and a half days.
