About the Degree

The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Completion Program for registered nurses.

As a student in the program, you will be prepared to take on more responsibilities and advance your career. Your salary potential will increase after graduation. If you choose to go to graduate school, you will have the value of widespread recognition that comes from a UIC degree.

The degree program can be finished in 16 months if you take classes in back-to-back terms. The online format allows you to fit the classwork whenever you have free time and there is no residency requirement. Also, your practicum experiences can be done near your location.

Class highlights include Exploring Complementary/Alternative Practices, Nursing Leadership and Management in Healthcare, and Concepts/Processes for Contemporary Nursing.

To qualify for admission, you must have a valid, unencumbered registered nurse license.

Most students who apply have already satisfied some or all of the class prerequisites of the program. On average, students only need to take a few classes beyond their associate’s degree and/or RN licensure to finish the prerequisites.
