Advanced Colleges of America Online
Advanced Colleges of America (ACA) for Global Healthcare Professionals, founded very recently on December 14th of 2009, is an institution focused on preparing its students for the medical field. Its vision is founded in helping fill the shortage of qualified healthcare professionals in the US, and does this by offering programs in Advanced Medical Assisting. The institute is recognized by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), and is slated to apply for approval to operate with the Bureau for Private Post-secondary Education, under the Department of Consumer Affairs in California.
ACA;s approach to healthcare education is quite unique, offering its students extra flexibility, in terms of scheduling. Students have the option of completing their coursework either on the ground or online, so that online students can finish the courses on their own time. However, the critical clinical experience is not left to chance so that hands-on experience is ensured for all students. Students have to go through an externship where they get to interact with doctors and patients first-hand while performing actual duties expected of a medical assistant.
Currently the Medical Asssisting Programs offered by ACA that combine online courses with hands-on clinical externships are the Medical Residency Track (For International Medical Students and Graduates), Medical Specialty Track (For Highly Qualified Vocational Healthcare Students, Nurses, and Other Ancillary Care Provider), and the Medical College Track (For Highly Qualified Vocational Healthcare Students, Nurses, and Other Ancillary Care Providers or High School Students Interested in Pursuing Medical College Studies).
Applicants to any of the programs at ACA must submit the following admissions requirements: a completed enrollment package, official school transcripts, payment for tuition, and an interview with the Admissions Advisor in person, or via video-telephone conferencing. Other additional requirements may be asked for.
