The American InterContinental University (AIU) is a multi-campus institution of higher learning founded in 1970. It has 4 residential campuses in the United States and 1 the United Kingdom: Atlanta, Georgia; Houston, Texas; South Florida; and Los Angeles, California in the US and London in the United Kingdom. It also has an online campus, called AIU Online, which operates from Illinois, USA.

Currently online degree programs offered in AIU Online Associate, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in the following areas of study: Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Design, Education and Information Technology.

Admissions to AIU Online is a simple process and does not focus much on an applicant’s academic background. Requirements for admissions to online programs in AIu include:

● completed application form
● $50 application fee
● Attestation of high school graduation or equivalent.
● Admission interview
● TOEFL or other English proficiency assessment – for non-native speakers of the English language

AIU Online has quite a number of grants and scholarships available exclusively for online students who are in need of financial assistance. The AIU Online Advantage Grants awards anywhere from $500 to $1,000 per academic program and can be applied to outstanding or future charges. All grants are directly credited to the student’s account. Students can also apply for Federal aid and private loans.

AIU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association as well as the US Distance Learning Association.
