Ashford University

Ashford University (AU), located in Clinton, Iowa, founded as a junior college by the Sisters of St. Francis back in 1918. AU is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. AU is also well known for being a recipient of the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for three consecutive years. It also ranks among the “Top Universities for African Americans” in the United States.

AU has a wide variety of academic programs, including adult campus programs and a number of accelerated online programs.

AU’s online programs include Associate degree programs in Business and Early Childhood Education. The online Master’s degree programs are in the fields of Education, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Management, Teaching and Learning with Technology, Business Administration, and Public Administration. Credits earned in online associate programs can be transferred towards a Bachelor’s degree (maximum of 99 credits).

Financial aid is available for online programs under Federal aid programs. However, university scholarships are not available for online students.

Admissions at AU is a simple process and can be done online. However, applicants must register first and provide personal information before the admissions process can be started.
