Chamberlain College of Nursing was first established in 1889, and was formerly known as Deaconess College of Nursing. From being a diploma school, it evolved to being a college that offered both Associate of Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees. DeVry Inc aquired Deaconess College in March 2005 and in September 2006, the school’s name was changed to what it is now known today.

Chamberlain offers nursing degrees at its many satellite campuses dotted throughout the United States and online. Chamberlain offers Master of Science in Nursing, RN to BSN (Online Degree Completion Program) and Associate Degree of Nursing programs online.

Candidates for the Nursing programs will need to meet certain requirements. Students must have SAT, ACT exams, have a GPA of 2.75 (or present a GED certificate), and a good command of the english language. Since some courses have program-specific admissions requirements, it is recommended that the College’s Admissions office be contacted for further advice.

Tuition fee for Chamberlain’s online courses vary depending on the program. Tuition does not cover for books, laboratory fees, and uniforms (if necessary). Chamberlain College offers discounted tuition fees for alumni and extends a similar discount to military personnel and their spouses. Furthermore, to make education more affordable, Chamberlain College maybe able to provide students financial aid through private scholarships, federal and state grants as well as student loans.

Chamberlain College if Nursing is certified to operate by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia. The College’s nursing degree programs are accredited by the National Leage for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the educational institution is fully accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
