Grand Canyon University Online

Grand Canyon University is a private university located in Phoenix, Arizona. It was established in 1949 as Grand Canyon College by the Arizona Southern Baptists initially as a non-profit Christian university that would allow members of the Baptist church to pursue higher education without relocating to another state. In 1989, the college was granted university status and its name was officially changed to Grand Canyon University. Problems in sourcing funds to support the school’s activities left the university with no other recourse but to switch status from non-profit to for-profit in 2004.

Today, Grand Canyon University is acknowledged as a premier Christian university. Regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association, it offers high-standard campus-based and online bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs through its Ken Blanchard College of Business, College of Education, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, College of Liberal Arts, and College of Fine Arts and Production.

The university’s online degree programs have been recognized as some of the best online education programs in the United States by no less than the Online Education Database (OEDb). The online degree programs offered are in the areas of Education, Nursing & Health Sciences, Business, and Liberal Arts.

Cost of tuition for graduate students varies per program. The same tuition rates apply for both online as well as on-campus courses. Financial aid is extended to qualified students by way of loans, grants and scholarships.
