Jones International University (JIU) is a for-profit academic institution that is accredited to grant undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate degrees. It was established in 1993 by Glen R. Jones, and the University has the distinction of being the first completely online university to gain regional accreditation. In 2008, JIU was ranked as one of the Top 10 Online Universities in the World by Global Academy Online.

JIU’s academic programs are offered through the School of Education and the School of Business. Under the School of Education, students can enrol in four programs: Master of Education, Education Specialist, Doctorate of Education, and Certificate of Education. JIU’s School of Business offers more online courses. Programs under the School of Business include Business Administration Certificate Programs, Accelerated Bachelors to Masters Business Specialization, BA in Business Communication Specialization, Bachelor of Business Administration Specializations, MA in Business Communication Specializations, MBA Specializations, and Doctorate in Business Administration Specializations.

JIU’s admission requirements are program-dependent. Each School has specific admission requirements thus it is recommended that applicants check the course requirements through the JIU website. Applicants need to complete their application to JIU within a set time frame else this will expire and the applicant will have to go through the entire process again.

Tuition at JIU is program-dependent as well. Financial assistance in the form of grants, loans and scholarships are available to eligible students.
