Lancaster Bible College and Graduate School
Lancaster Bible College and Graduate School or LBC is a bible college in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1933 by Henry J. Heydt as the Lancaster School of the Bible with a mission to “educate Christian students to think and live a biblical worldview and proclaim Christ by serving Him in the Church and society.” In 1973, the school was granted permission to offer the Bachelor of Science in Bible degree during which time it also officially changed its name to Lancaster Bible College. In 1994, the college began awarding its Master’s degrees, and by 1999 was accredited to offer the Bachelor of Science in Bible course completely online.
Today, LBC, while non-denominational, remains committed to its original mission. Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) and the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), it offers Bachelor of Science in Bible, Bachelor of Science in Education, Associate of Science in Bible and two one-year certificate programs to its undergraduate students. On the graduate level, LBC offers five graduate certificates, Master of Arts in Bible, Master of Arts in Ministry, Master of Arts and Master of Education.
LBC’s online education system known as LBCOnline provides adult students with an opportunity to complete their college education regardless of their busy schedule. Online courses are scheduled in such a way that they fit the learner’s busy lifestyle and can be completed in a shorter period of time than if they were taken on campus. The primary program available 100% online is the Bachelor of Science in Bible degree. To help defray tuition cost, financial aid is extended in the form of loans, grants and scholarships.
