Loyola University New Orleans Online

Loyola University New Orleans was established as Loyola College in 1904. This non-profit Catholic institution is one of 28 Jesuit academic institutions in the United States. Although the University emphasizes the Jesuit educational tradition, admission is open to students of all faiths. Loyola University offers a wide range of degree programs at the main campus in New Orleans, Louisiana, just a few minutes from down town New Orleans and the French Quarter. The school has a distance-learning arm offering two degrees in the field of nursing.

Loyola University, through its distance education arm, offers two completely online programs: Master of Science in Nursing (major in Healthcare Systems Management), and the RN to MSN Bridge (Blend) Program. Students must complete 36 credit hours to earn the MSN degree. To complete the Blend program, students must attend 6 credit hours as well as 36 MSN credit hours. Tuition does not include incidental expenses and may change without prior notice. Financial aid is available to qualified students and aid comes in the form of grants, scholarships, and loans.

The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accredits Loyola University and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission accredits the University’s MSN program. The University was ranked 10th in Princeton Review’s 2010 list of Best 301 Colleges. It consistently ranks high in US News and World Report’s lists; notable achievements include being consistently in the Top 10 Southern Region Schools for almost 20 years; ranked 6th Best Master’s University in the South (2010), and ranked 2nd in the Great Schools, Great Prices categories.
