Saint Joseph’s College is a private, coeducational, liberal arts learning institution with campuses located in Brooklyn and in Patchogue, both in the state of New York. It was founded in 1916 by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Brentwood in response to a clamor for a day college strictly for women. As enrollment steadily increased, space became more and more of a problem and, finally the college moved to a bigger location in Clinton Avenue, Brooklyn where one of its current campuses is located. The college granted its first Bachelor’s degrees in 1920 and eight years later, it received its accreditation from the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. By 1970 an amendment in its Charter allowed male students to enroll thereby making the college fully coeducational. In 1979 another campus was erected in Patchogue complete with state-of-the-art facilities.
Today, Saint Joseph’s College offers over 23 undergraduate majors, pre-professional and certificate programs, with graduate degrees in Management, Business, Healthcare Management, Nursing, Accounting, and Education. In addition to its campus-based traditional degree programs, it also offers online degree courses for busy working adults who want to pursue higher education but are too busy to attend regular classes. These online programs help students to get ahead in their careers and include courses in the fields of Business, Management, Organizational Behavior, and Human Resources.
Online programs offered by Saint Joseph’s College include the Online Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA); Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management; Certificate in Leadership and Supervision; and Certificate in Human Resources.
