Washington State University (WSU) is a public research university founded in 1890. Aside from its main campus in Pullman, Washington, it also operates campuses in Spokane, the Tri-Cities and Vancouver. Its departments, schools and programs are organized into ten (10) colleges consisting of the Colleges of Business, Communication, Education, Engineering and Architecture, Liberal Arts, Pharmacy, Nursing, Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, and the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences. The university established WSU Online in 1992 in order to provide education to people who are not able to participate in on-campus programs.
There are at least eight (8) undergraduate degrees and several master’s degrees currently offered online. Online undergraduate degree programs are offered in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Human Development, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The different colleges offer specific online graduate degree programs such as the Master of Science in Agriculture, Master of Business Administration, and Deaf Education Endorsement, among others. Several programs are offered online with some on-site courses required. Online certificate programs include Molecular Biosciences, Early Childhood Development and Care, Gerontology, Organic Agriculture, Professional Writing, Bioethics, and Fitness/Nutrition & Wellness.
Freshman applicants are required to have their high school official manuscripts as well as SAT or ACT scores sent directly to the Office of Admissions. Transfer students are required to submit official transcripts from all colleges attended. Non-degree seeking students do not need any former college credit or a minimum GPA. However, there are courses that are only available to degree-seeking students.
Qualified online students can avail of the same financial aid options available to on-campus students. WSU is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. As per US News and World Report ranking, WSU is recognized as among the Top 60 Public Universities in the US.
