Worcester Polytechnic Institute Online

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), founded in 1865, has the distinction of being the third oldest private, technological university in the United States. In addition to the prestige of its age, it is peopled with notable faculty that have received different awards. WPI is also accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

WPI is also equally proud of its distance education programs, which started 30 years ago. Currently, their distance learning programs are offered as online courses via the Advanced Distance Learning Network (ADLN). Programs that are available as online programs are the Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) program, Master’s in Information Technology program, Master’s in Marketing and Technological Innovation program, Master’s in Operations Design and Leadership program, Master’s in Environmental Engineering program, Master’s in Fire Protection Engineering program, and Master’s in System Dynamics program. All of the above mentioned programs, are at par with the campus-based programs and require the same degree of competence from its applicants.

Admission requirements for the online Master’s degree programs vary per program, with special requirements needed in some programs. However, basic requirements include the submission of a completed official application form, an application fee of $70, official copies of transcripts for all post-secondary colleges or universities, statement of purpose, 3 letters of recommendation, and TOEFL scores. Graduate test scores (GMAT or GRE) are required for most programs.
